Inicial Situation

An important automotive manufacturer exposed to us a problem they had while manipulating and moving the trolleys in their assembly line, due to the increase in demand and thus in their productivity.

The trolleys in question worked in long assembly lines, that require high load castors, resistant to long and demanding working conditions. Nonetheless, at the same time, besides from needing high load castors, the customer needed to improve the manoeuvrability of the trolleys, in a small and reduced assembly space.

The challenged that they proposed to us was to improve the manoeuvrability of the rotation radius and thus optimizing and reducing the loading time of the sunroofs, which were highly delicate and with a great weight. All this needed to be done without modifying the already customized existing trolleys that the firm was using.

After studying the situation, our R & D department, came up with the following solution: To develop a tailor fit support for the trolley that our customer wanted to use and implement there the castor they needed.

The department opted for the HLS Series. We customized it by reinforcing the top bearing and modifying the position of the brake, thus avoiding any collision with other elements of the trolley. Furthermore, a special spring was installed to deal with any irregularity on the ground and protecting the product that was placed on the trolley.

The proposed wheel, was of out HUAB series, that is a ball-shaped tread tyre, that facilitates the maneuverability and has great resistance thanks to the fact that is manufactured with castors with steel centre and cast polyurethane tyre.

The result was a success, and the client has incorporated this solution to the whole group.
