Project of the Manoeuvrability Security and movement in harrow folding of theatre halls

June 14, 2021

Initial Situation

An important client of the construction, repairs and maintenance industry , contacted us to solve a problem they had with their folding harrows of an important theatre company.

The firm has large polyvalent theatre halls, and depending on the performing necessities of the day they need to be adjusted to fit more or less spectators.

The challenge that the operational team of the firm proposed us was the following. They needed to be quicker when adding or adjusting the folding harrows, in between performances. With the already existing castors that the folding harrows had, it was required a great effort to move them around, making the operators job complicated and slow. There was also the added challenge that with the old wheels the harrows could meant a security hazard to the spectators sitting in them.

Proposed Solution

TAfter evaluating the necessities of the client, our engineers searched for a solution to the challenges proposed: 1) Improve the manoeuvrability of the folding harrows and 2) that the wheel wouldn’t damage the floor of the theatre hall thus increasing the security for the spectators sitting in the harrows.

Our technicians suggested to change their old wheels for our injected polyurethane series with sturdiness of 95 Shore A (Series PPI). This selection was done due to the characteristics of the material, this material is silent and non-deformable, thus not damaging the floors and improving the manoeuvrability.

The result was such a success, that the firm adopted our wheels for all the theatre halls they manage.
